Pastors Patrick and Andrea Penn
Pastors Patrick and Andrea were born and raised in Cullman County, Alabama. They became high school sweethearts in 1989 and married in 1995 upon graduating college at U.A.B. Patrick earned a B.S. in Psychology and Andrea earned a B.S. in Nursing. Patrick and Andrea are both ordained with Encounters Network based out of Franklin, TN and Harvest International Ministries based out of Pasadena, California. Patrick and Andrea moved to the Huntsville area in 2002 with their 3 boys Seth, Samuel and Charly, and have been serving as founding and lead pastors of The Dwelling Place since 2005. Andrea also works full time as a RN. Patrick and Andrea’s passions include equipping believers, traveling on mission trips, family vacations and date nights.
Charles and Virginia Payne
Charles and Virginia met at The Dwelling Place and married in 2009. Charles was born in Norfolk, Virginia but his family moved to Cullman, Alabama when he was very little. He graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1991 and has worked for local company Dynetics since 1999. He moved to Madison County in 2006 and Huntsville in 2012. Charles’s passion is teaching the Word of God and he currently teaches the adult Sunday school class before our regular worship service. Virginia is a lifelong resident of the Huntsville area. She has had a love of teaching since an early age and graduated from Athens State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 1995, as well as a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Alabama in 2001. She has been teaching in the Huntsville City School system since 1997 and has attended the Dwelling Place since 2003. Virginia loves arranging showers for members of the church for various special occasions and also serves as a nursery worker, greeter, and sound person. Charles and Virginia were ordained through The Dwelling Place in August of 2013 and have been serving on the pastoral leadership team since that time.
Michael and Elizabeth Larose
Michael and Elizabeth married in 1982 and have 3 children who are now grown and married. Michael grew up in the northeastern USA, but after living in Germany for 3 years and graduating from high school there, he settled in the Huntsville area and made it his home. His career encompasses over 30 years in the electronics and missile defense industries. Elizabeth was born and raised in Huntsville and has lived in the area all of her life. In her past, she has been a draftsman at United Space Boosters Inc, had a home day care for 2 years, and worked for H&R Block preparing taxes. Currently, she works part time as a vet assistant. Elizabeth loves people and all of God’s creation, especially animals, the ocean, and all nature. Elizabeth is currently the director of “The Spring Healing Rooms” at The Dwelling Place and has always had a heart to see people totally healed; spirit, soul and body. Michael and Elizabeth were ordained through The Dwelling Place in December 2011 and serve on the Pastoral Leadership Team, where Elizabeth is also church treasurer.
Carole moved with her husband, Frank, to Huntsville in 1965 and were charter members of the ministry when it began in a small office as “Bill Hale Ministries” in the early 1980’s. Frank and Carole had three children: Patty, Frank, and Bob, and nine grandchildren and began serving as elders in the church in 2006, under the new name “The Dwelling Place”. They served faithfully until Frank passed on Oct 24, 2012. Carole now heads up the “Heart to Heart” ministry for those aged 55 and above, which meets on the 4th Sunday of every month right after church. They enjoy a lunch followed by fellowship with prayer requests and praise reports. Carole also enjoys working in the healing rooms and serves as a greeter. Carole’s passion is being a witness for Jesus Christ and encouraging people with God’s written word and of course spending time with family and friends.
Maurice and Rosie Baldwin
Maurice and Rosie were married in 1965 and moved to Tullahoma, TN, where they lived and raised a family for more than 40 years. At Maurice’s retirement in 2005, they moved to the Huntsville area to be closer to their two children and have made The Dwelling Place their church home since that time. Maurice earned a BS in electrical engineering and worked for 40 years at Arnold Engineering Development Center, helping to test propulsion components for both the early space programs and military defense. Maurice currently enjoys playing guitar and, through the years, has served as a worship leader, director of special choral groups and/or a member of praise teams in every church where they have been members – including The Dwelling Place. He also gathers and runs weekly church announcements, serves on the audio/visual team, and volunteers his many handyman skills when he can be of help. Rosie graduated with a BS in elementary education and taught in public school before becoming a stay-at-home mom. In later years she taught in a Christian school and also served as a director of a church day care center. Maurice and Rosie now serve together at The Dwelling Place in a ministry of hospitality, preparing and serving church breakfasts, organizing and serving the monthly church dinners, and helping to coordinate and ensure meals taken to members and others in times of need.
Wanda was originally from Birmingham, but has lived in the Huntsville area most of her life. She has attended The Dwelling Place for many years, along with her husband Jim and daughters Brittny and Bethany, who continue to attend now with their own families. Wanda is a hospice nurse and graduated from UAH with a minor in psychology. In 2010, Wanda received training through Samford University as a Parish Nurse. With has a heart for people, she loves missions at home, as well as abroad, and has gone on multiple mission trips to Mexico and Guatemala. Wanda is founder and director of “The Inside Out Food Pantry”, operated through The Dwelling Place and serving, on a monthly basis, those in our own church with needs as well as the local community. Matthew 25:35 ” for I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink…”
Connie came to Huntsville with her husband, Curtis, in 2008 and immediately began praying with the intercessors of this area. She serves as the Prayer Coordinator at The Dwelling Place and is currently leading a Wednesday evening adult group that is exploring the power of praying in unity. As the administrative facilitator for a network of City Intercessors who use the Seven Mountain mandate to pray for a cultural transformation in this region, Connie organizes and encourages prayer teams to pray “on-site with insight” to bring Heaven to earth throughout the area, publishing prayer calendars and alerts to target and focus prayer. Connie’s motto: ” If it’s prayer, I’m there!”
